Who's Muddy?
In the photos above: Muddy and her husband Don and Muddy's profile Witchy says:
"Muddy is a very dear friend of mine
(Witch Hazel, of course!) even
if we have actually never met in our lives. I mean, physically.
Virtually we keep in touch
and exchange e-mails almost everyday. Once
it would have been really difficult for us to have lunch together,
if we decided, because of the ocean (Muddy lived in the USA not long
ago and I have always lived in the South of Italy). Now that Muddy
has
moved
to Paris, France (for those who don't know...) maybe this
summer we will exchange visits... who knows?" |
| Ok! But... who really is Muddy? Muddy moved from the US to France to be married to Don... and this is very romantic! In the USA she worked 25 years as a librarian in a school for teenagers and this gave her a privileged standpoint from which to communicate with kids. I mean... she was an adult dealing with boys and girls but she didn't have the responsibilities and drawbacks which afflict teachers in their relations to youngsters. So she was more like a friend to them than rather a terrible strict teacher ;-) I suppose the inspiration to Beachcombing rose from the fact that, for the past 20 years, one of the high points of each year for her was going with her son to the annual Thanksgiving family reunion at the beach. Last but not the least, she confesses to be "a big softy who loves animals". Sorry!! I nearly forgot... Muddy loves to write poems and this is another thing which links her to her husband Don. Maybe one day also Don (he's better known among friends as Scarecrow, Scary, S-Cary Grant, Scare-brain, etc. etc.) will send us a poem to be published in this corner of Witch Hazel's web site... |

Muddy's poems Little white dog: a very tender poem about a cosy affectionate dog that is waiting g to be stroked by a loving hand... |
